MVAS has a wide variety of waters in the Maidstone area to cater for most types of fishing, from specimen hunting for huge carp, to small ponds, to many miles of the River Medway.
If you are not catching, or need advice on how to tackle a new water then just get in touch.
IMPORTANT!! WIERTON KEEPNET BAN
The committee have decided, that, in an effort to contain an outbreak of disease and carp deaths at Wierton, the following measures will be taken:
The disease has been linked with a suspected illegal stocking of pike. Any Pike seen should be reported, and, if landed, they should not be returned to the water.
The disease is causing sores on bream. If possible, these should be treated with Savlon, Bonjela, or a proprietory fish wound gel prior to being returned.
Directions to all the waters listed can be found in your club handbook.
Please refer to your handbook for specific restrictions in force on some waters.
MITTEN CRABS AND CRAY FISH
These are an increasing issue on many waters and the club are participating in a study to assess their impact. All mitten crabs and cray fish caught should be destroyed and reported using the following form. HERE
